Santa Cruz and Shark Fin Cove

Drove down Highway 1 to Santa Cruz on Sunday. Always have to take even a quick stop at Shark Fin Cove. Such a cool little beach. Here are some photos:

Whale bones! Or some big fish's vertebra.

But we were on our way to Santa Cruz to check out the Wild Mushrooms & Functional Fungi exhibit at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History. They used one of my photos as the background for the sign leading into the exhibit and the flyers. Woo!

 Cool, right?

Anyway, here are a few more photos of the calmer waters of Santa Cruz.

After that we headed back up the coast and at one point it became a very religious experience. I want to set the scene with golden sun-light breaking through dark clouds behind us, and sheets of rain coming down in front of us, waves getting blown back out to sea, even a water spout starting to form while Jane Siberry and K.D. Lang belt out Calling All Angels on the radio, but sheesh... Not sure I want to ruin it.
