Neutral Density

Today we went out on the bay trail and played with the neutral density filter. The images got very surreal to me. Kind of dreamy with the water blurring, Mount Diablo so crisp and real in the distance while everything melted and moved in the foreground. Kay walked out through the water to a grassy little island. The water moved the grass in some spots but not around his feet. The shots became stills from dreams. And dreams have been swirling around us all day today. The first thing he said to me today as he woke up was "I want a snail." As he became more lucid the scenes of his dream solidified. I feel like these shots come from that place between I want a snail and the harder surfaces of reality. No, I'm not stoned right now, so shaddap.
